Code From Anywhere (abbreviated CFA) is a distributed software development agency and developer collective founded by Jan Wilmake in April 2021.[1] Operating under the principle that high-quality software development can be performed from any location in the world, CFA assembled a geographically dispersed team of engineers working primarily in React Native, TypeScript, and Node.js.
CFA was formally established in April 2021 following an intensive networking period in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.[1] Within its first five operational months, the agency generated approximately €129,000 in revenue, largely through client engagements in mobile and web application development.[2]
By mid-2022, CFA had grown to include remote team members in Nepal and Brazil. Key collaborators included Bhagya (Nepal), Guilherme (Brazil), and junior developers Suyog, Deepak, and Bibash (Nepal).[2]
A notable initiative was the Code From Nepal Bootcamp (September–October 2022), in which Wilmake traveled to Nepal to train and mentor local developers while simultaneously delivering client work. The bootcamp combined Himalayan trekking (including routes through Manang and to Tilicho Lake) with intensive TypeScript and React Native instruction.[2]
Following ChatGPT's public launch in November 2022, CFA's focus shifted progressively from pure client services toward AI-native product development.[2] The agency served as the legal and commercial entity for Wilmake's independent projects, including ActionSchema, Screenless, and uithub.
CFA continues to operate as the umbrella entity for Wilmake's consulting and product work. During Wilmake's DevRel engagement with Parallel AI (August–November 2025), CFA functioned as the invoicing entity.[3] [4]

CFA's preferred stack evolved significantly over its existence:
Wilmake established CFA around the belief that talented developers exist globally and that geographic constraints on engineering teams are largely artificial. This philosophy was demonstrated most concretely through the Nepal Bootcamp, which combined client delivery with local developer upskilling in a remote mountain environment.[2]
