# Ricky Robinett

**Ricky Robinett** is an American software developer and developer relations executive based in Brooklyn, New York. He serves as **VP of Developer Relations and Community at Cloudflare**, a role he has held since joining on 27 March 2023.[^linkedin] He is active on X as [@rickyrobinett](https://x.com/rickyrobinett).[^x]

## Career

Robinett studied at William Jewell College and has spent over a decade in developer relations. Prior to Cloudflare, he led developer relations at multiple technology companies; he describes his career motto as "How can I help?"[^podrocket]

At Cloudflare, Robinett leads the Developer Relations team, whose mission is to inspire developers worldwide with what is possible on Cloudflare's platform and to cultivate an active community of builders. His team produces technical content (YouTube, GitHub demos), manages the Cloudflare Discord and community forums, and runs programmes such as the Workers Launchpad for startups. He has co-authored blog posts on LangChainJS integration, ChatGPT plugins for Cloudflare Radar, and the Workers Launchpad programme.[^blog]

He has spoken on Cloudflare TV about AI agents and Developer Week planning (April 2025), and has been featured on the Stack Overflow podcast. He is known for side projects including **FakeGirlfriend** (a texting service used 200,000+ times) and **World of Fourcraft** (a Foursquare-based game).[^linkedin]

## Connection to Jan

Ricky is a central figure in Jan's 2025 Cloudflare relationship network. Jan was introduced to Ricky via Dane Knecht (CTO) and Ricky in turn introduced Jan to Peter Saulitis in New York. Jan noted Ricky as a key contact for pursuing a DevRel IC role at Cloudflare and asked Sunil Pai to refer him directly to Ricky. During the DevRel candidacy discussions in early 2025, Jan prepared specific questions for Ricky around scope, compensation, and IP ownership.[^sunil][^diary]
